#47 USA trip part 1: San Francisco

November 2, 2017 | Traveling

Hey you,

So again it has been a while since I have posted something on my blog. Sorry! A few weeks ago I came back from this beautiful road trip across several United States of America!

If you have followed me on my Instagram, I have been to lots of places in California, Nevada and even Arizona. A mind-blowing experience, filled with great memories, experiences and lots of fun!

For people who would like to travel to the West-Coast of USA, you have lots of directions. An important thing is to check what you like and what you don’t like. We did a mixture of city trips and the best and most beautiful national parks. For us it was the best combination of urban and nature!

So if you are planning to take a walk on the wild side, you should definitely continue reading this blogpost. The most important thing for me is to take you with me on my USA journey and hopefully one day you will experience this great trip yourself!

Before we’ve booked our trip with Dutch travelling agency D-Reizen, it’s important to make a plan. This was our travel plan:

Dusseldorf – San Francisco – San Francisco – Yosemite National Park – Mammoth Lakes – Death Valley National Park – Las Vegas – Grand Canyon National Park – Los Angeles – Los Angeles – Dusseldorf

In this first USA blogpost I’m telling you more about the Californian city San Francisco. San Francisco is a city of high tech and startups, diverse restaurants and fun little neighborhoods, each with their own unique spin. And that’s the reason we visited San Francisco!

Herbert Hotel
As you all know, San Francisco is one of the most expensive cities in America. And we have experienced that! Choosing an hotel was a very difficult thing to do, because we had to face the fact that the hotel prices were higher than normal! That’s why we choose the Herbert Hotel. The hotel is located right across a giant H&M store in the city center of San Francisco (not a problem for me!). In two blocks you are standing on one of the famous squares: Union Square.
The hotel offers a cool design with an old historic twist! The rooms are quite spacious and clean. So definitely recommendable!

161 Powell St, San Francisco, CA 94102, United States of America

I think when you are reading this, you also would like to see some great photos! And since a picture is worth a thousand words, I take you through a photo journey instead of a storytelling idea!

These are the best places to visit when you’re visiting San Francisco:

Union Square

Best place te enjoy a cup of coffee at 9 A.M.

Cable Cars

Hop on girls!

Painted Ladies

These houses reminded me of my favorite tv show Full House. Had to take a picture!

Fishersman’s Warf and Pier 39

Pier 39: very touristic (in a good way), but it reminded me of Disneyland! (source; Pinterest)

Golden Gate Bridge

Pretty views! Also a perfect place to hike!

Baker Beach

Baker Beach is a perfect place to escape the busy city centre!

So, I hope you enjoyed the first part of my USA journey. So excited to tell you more about it!
Stay tuned for more!

Have you ever been to San Francisco?

xxx

Simone
